Abstract Review Result – ELF 13 2022

We are happy to announce that the reviewing process has now been completed.
Following the epidemic prevention regulation in Taiwan, visitors to Taiwan still need to stay in a quarantined hotel for 3 days. In order to welcome everyone to attend the conference, we will postpone the abstract review result and conference format until a new epidemic prevention regulation is launched in Taiwan. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Paper Submission Deadline Extended - ELF 13 2022

The deadline for the ELF 13 2022 abstract submission has been extended. The extended deadline for submitting abstracts is 10 June 2022. You can find the list of important dates here.

Welcome to ELF 13

Let's go ELF 2022: Expanding the Orientations

National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) warmly welcomes you to the 13th International Conference of English as a Lingua Franca (ELF 13), to be held in Tainan City, Taiwan, in 2022. ELF13 in Taiwan follows the successes of the previous ELF conferences held in Helsinki (2008), Southampton (2009), Vienna (2010), Hong Kong (2011), Istanbul (2012), Rome (2013), Athens (2014), Beijing (2015), Lleida (2016), Helsinki (2017), London (2018), and Medellín (2019).

ELF 13 seeks to explore the rapidly-growing phenomenon of English as a Lingua Franca from linguistics, psychology, education, corpus studies, sociolinguistics, English learning/teaching, and language policy in diverse settings where English is the contact language for international communication. Together we will explore the implications and applications of ELF across disciplines.

Carrying on the vision of the past 12 ELF conferences, ELF 13 will serve as another stepping stone in bridging the gap among ELF users, educators and scholars across geographical and cultural boundaries.

ELF is happening around us.  LET’s GO ELF in Tainan in 2022!

ELF 13 Forerun Webinar

The COVID-19 epidemic has changed our lives in the past 2 years, and also provided us new ways of communication across time zones and boarders easier than before. The Organization Committee of ELF 13 will host a webinar forum on October 26-27, 2021 so we can get together to share ideas in the virtual venue.

This webinar forum will serve as a forerun conference of onsite ELF 13 to be held in Taiwan in the winter of 2022. The forum features 5 invited speeches and 1 colloquium. We cordially welcome you to join the ELF community in October online!
